I have been creating Intranets my whole professional life. Although I am focusing on intranets in large financial companies for the last 10 years, I do believe Intranets are always the same: you just have to analyze users' information needs, define data flows, set-up a strategy and goals based on the business strategy and always keep thinking on information architecture and usability from the end users' point of view. On the other hand I do not believe an IT driven intranet can be a successful one. The more the Intranets are becoming "social networking tools" and the more are users becoming real authors of its content, the more I got involved into social networks too and started to think about its added value for financial companies, communication and information security risks and possible selling potential. Thanks to my job in GE I also had a pleasure to implement several Intranet platforms in other countries like Russia, Romania, Slovakia, Germany, Poland, Ireland... Last, but not the least, in 2007 I became the first Certified Usability Analyst (CUA) in the Czech republic. However my primary goal is not connected to my job primarily.
